Susan Stuart Honored at Health Care Heroes Awards for Service as Organ, Tissue and Cornea Donation Advocate
Stuart Recognized September 9 in Pittsburgh at Annual Awards Ceremony
Pittsburgh, Sept. 29, 2015 – Susan Stuart, president and CEO of the Center for Organ Recovery & Education (CORE), was honored September 9 at the Health Care Heroes Awards during a reception at the Omni William Penn. She was announced as winner in the category “Community Outreach/Individual.” The award recognized Stuart’s efforts as an advocate for organ, tissue and cornea donation. She was also nominated in the “Health Care Executive” category.
“I am truly proud to be considered among the health care leaders who have received this award in the past,” said Stuart. “Our mission at CORE is to save and improve lives through organ, tissue and cornea donation, and it would be impossible to do so without the support of the staff members and volunteers who work hard every day to fulfill our mission. Although this is an individual award, I really must share it with all of them.”
Health Care Heroes is presented by the Pittsburgh Business Times and Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield to celebrate the people and organizations in Pittsburgh’s health care industry who are instrumental in making this region one of the premier health care centers in the world.
