Center for Organ Recovery & Education and the University of Pittsburgh to Host Step Afrika!

–African Step Dancing Performance on Oct. 25 will Kick Off Celebration of National Donor Sabbath in November–

WHO: The Center for Organ Recovery & Education (CORE) in partnership with the University of Pittsburgh’s Office of Health Sciences Diversity

WHAT: Join us for the fast-paced dance steps and the energetic sounds of Step Afrika!, who will perform traditional African step dancing to commemorate the upcoming National Donor Sabbath.

KDKA-TV’s Brenda Waters will serve as mistress of ceremonies.

This event is open to the public and admission is free.

WHERE: University of Pittsburgh’s Alumni Hall, 7th Floor, 4227 Fifth Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15260

DETAILS: Based in Washington, D.C., Step Afrika! is the first professional company dedicated to the tradition of stepping. Founded in 1994, it currently ranks as one of the top ten African American dance companies in the United States.

National Donor Sabbath, recognized November 14-16, seeks to bring together faith leaders, donor families, and transplant recipients to highlight the ways that lives can be saved and enhanced through organ, tissue and cornea donation.
