Center for Organ Recovery & Education (CORE) Holds Flag Raising Ceremonies at Charleston Hospitals for National Donate Life Month

– Ceremonies Honor Organ, Tissue and Cornea Donors, Recipients and their Families –

WHO: The Center for Organ Recovery & Education (CORE) and several hospital partners in the Charleston area.

WHAT: Hosting flag raising and donor wall dedication ceremonies to commemorate National Donate Life Month. Celebrated in April, the annual observance encourages organ donation awareness and commemorates organ donors and their families.

WHEN/WHERE:

  • Friday, April 11, 2 p.m.: Thomas Memorial Hospital, 4605 Maccorkle Ave SW, South Charleston
  • Friday, April 11, 5 p.m.: CAMC General, 501 Morris St., Charleston
  • Wednesday, April 16, 2 p.m.: CAMC Teays Valley, 1400 Hospital Dr., Hurricane
  • Wednesday, April 16, 2 p.m.: St. Francis Hospital, 333 Laidley St., Charleston

DETAILS:

  • CAMC General: Rededication of the donor memorial tree and the adding 14 new names (leaves) and flag raising ceremony. Closed event for families and hospital staff.
  • Thomas Memorial Hospital: Rededication of donor memorial tree. Public invited to attend.
  • CAMC Teays Valley: Rededication of donor wall and flag raising ceremony. Public invited to attend.
  • St. Francis Hospital: Rededication of hero room and flag raising ceremony.
